[ PSD's Top Priorities | Alumni, Friends & Giving Opportunities ]
Our alumni and friends provide the resources necessary for the Physical Sciences Division's research, teaching, and student support. The Division benefits from annual unrestricted gifts, as well as specific contributions directed toward a particular interest.

Perhaps the most flexible gift of any, the Dean's Discretionary Fund allows the Dean to use contributions to fill needs that arise suddenly, or for which there are no other appropriate funding sources. Examples include matching for equipment grants, post-doc funding as part of a start-up package, and outreach programs such as the Math Department's program with the Chicago Public Schools to improve elementary mathematical skills. Gifts at any level are appreciated, but we encourage individuals to consider making a gift at the Dean's Circle level ($2,000 annually) for which there is the added benefit of attending the annual Dean's Circle luncheon.
Often the best way to support the PSD is through a gift of appreciated stock or an estate gift such as a codicil to your existing will, a gift through of your retirement plan, or an annuity gift. Different philanthropic goals and tax benefits may be realized by each of these gift types.
For more information on these, or other charitable gifts, please contact Valerie Kahn, Director of Development, at (773) 702-8939 or at vkahn@uchicago.edu.
